Important Security Vulnerabilities Warning
Recently, Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) conducted an access security vulnerability test on some routers and NAS products on the market. On 16 September 2019, the latest report entitled Security Vulnerabilities in Network Accessible Services was released. The report highlighted that several security vulnerabilities were identified in the tested products, including TerraMaster’s F2-420,which was running version 3.1.03 of the company’s TOS proprietary firmware.
First and foremost, we would like to thank ISE for drawing attention to the vulnerability associated withTerraMaster’s TOS 3.1.03. The version number of the software tested by ISE is TOS 3.1.03, which was released on 22 December 2017. Since this version of the software was initially released, TOS has receivedmore than 30 updates, and most of the security vulnerabilities reported by ISE this month were improvedin past software updates. This week, TerraMaster released the latest update, TOS 4.1.02.
After verification with TerraMaster’s technical team, the security vulnerabilities pointed out by ISE have all been improved in the latest software updates. However, please be sure to pay attention to the security of your data, andif you are still using the old version of TOS, please update it immediately to avoid the possibility of malicious attacks on your device.
