  • How is the storage capacity of RAID calculated?

Raid 0: the storage capacity is the capacity of N* minimum hard drive space (N is the number of hard drives, which is not less than 2).
Raid 1: storage capacity is the capacity of minimum hard drive space (N is the number of hard drives, which is not less than 2).
Raid 3: storage capacity is the capacity of (N-1)* minimum hard drive space (N is the number of hard drives, which is not less than 3).
Raid 5: storage capacity is the capacity of (N-1)* minimum hard drive space (N is the number of hard drives, which is not less than 3).
Raid 6: storage capacity is the capacity of (N-2)* minimum hard drive space (N is the number of hard drives, which is not less than 4).
Raid 10: storage capacity is the capacity of (N/2)* minimum hard drive space (N is the number of hard drives, which is equal to 4).
SINGLE Disk: the capacity of each hard drive is separate (N is the number of hard drives).
JBOD: the storage capacity of easily bundled hard drives is the sum of the capacity of all hard drives.

  • What should be done as to the slow transmission speed of TNAS?

If users find that the transmission speed (reading/writing) of TNAS is far lower than the official test values, it indicates that the TNAS device or network connection has abnormal situation. Please exclude exception one by one according to the instructions below:
1.The computer uses wireless network. The transmission speed will be greatly reduced if computer users use wireless network for data transmission. To ensure a sufficient transmission speed, we recommed using a wired network.
2.Hard drive failure. Data transmission speed will be affected when the hard drive within TNAS fails.
3.Network failure. Please check if the network connection to the network cable, router or Switch port is normal.
4.Computer failure. If the computer invaded by viruses or the computer network card fails, data transmission speed will be affected.
