我和铁威马的故事

那是一个偶然的机会，我和铁威马结缘了。我于 2018年6月开始使用铁威马F2-221这个系统。当时是TOS4.0.09系统。后来升级到了 TOS4.0.12。为什么我会选择铁威马系统呢？主要是考虑到硬件的性能价格比。对于系统层面，我其实并不很在乎。我这个人还有一个特点，就是选择一个产品或系统，一定要仔细研究它。尽可能要“知其然也知其所以然”。因为我拥有40多年的逆向工程专业经验，在嵌入式 linux 逆向工程研究领域也有一定的 造诣。特别是“系统的内核”，“系统的结构”方面。 
为了让大家了解我是谁？在此也利用我和铁威马的故事这次机会，来介绍一下我自己。我现在已经退休啦。“老三届”，上山下乡插队 5 年。恢复高考后的“新三届”，78 级考入 大学，再后来读研究生。八十年代中期至九十年代初，在中关村小有名气的网络技术专家。那时国内还没有互联网，但我已经在为企业内部做局域联网设计和编程了。那时还没有大家所熟悉的路由器，局域联网需要通过网关(gateway)互联。网关需要自行设计，通常使用安装Unix系统的PC机来实现。我从1992年开始分析研究linux系统的体系结构。那时也会经常在一些专业的杂志和计算机世界报纸杂志上发表文章。凭着近40年的计算机软 硬件开发经验和自己拥有的技术专利，本人写过商业软件，也写过开源软件。有丰富的系统集成，软件开发（从各类汇编语言到高级语言）经验。本人是一个尊重知识产权，热心奉献社区论坛志愿者。从1982大学毕业到现在已经40多年了，时光如梭，人也从“小马奔腾”变成了“老骥伏枥”。但是“活到老学到老”的精神是永恒不变的。
我为什么要使用铁威马F2-221这个系统呢？用它来做什么呢？我的用途可能与现在年轻人用 NAS 来做视频、音乐、照片存储等等不同，我主要是用它来做原始代码的版本控制、存储和软件开发用，当然也包括数据库。这个截图是我的铁威马系统中的应用配置：
我为什么选择铁威马呢？因为我的这个NAS服务器不会长时间永久开机运行，会时常关机。铁威马的优点部分是启动过程非常的快捷，关机过程也快。这是最初的感官，非常适合我的需求。然后我通过Linux逆向工程分析得出来的结论，认为它的设计非常适合我的需求。它的启动过程非常的快，可以甩群晖与威联通几条街。这是为什么呢？这与系统的启动自举设计有关。群晖与威联通都是首先由内核建立起Linux初始RAM磁盘文件系统。在引入并挂载实际的根文件系统之前，花费大量的功夫对实际的根文件中的文件做解密处理，以及费时，费力的硬件绑定处理等等。群晖是集中硬件绑定，启动比威联通快一些。威联通的启动过程实在是太慢了。而铁威马的实际的根文件系统根本不需要在启动自举过程中做任何处理，因此，它直接由内核，通过RAID Array自举引入并挂载已经完全展开的实际的根文件系统。当然，启动过程就非常快啦。铁威马通过RAID Array自举是一个非常好设计亮点。 
 
铁威马通过RAID Array自举的这个设计亮点。当时的铁威马 TOS4.0.12 系统以占用每一块4G空间的代价，在每一块上都有可以自举的完整系统。使系统的鲁棒性超级强壮。现在的硬盘已经很便宜了。4G 空间就是九牛一毛的代价而已。 
 
我的这个铁威马F2-221系统，一直服役至今。它的工作都十分稳定和正常。 
 
我曾经两次参加众测，并在那是云论坛发表了测试报告。

这次铁威马组织的全球范围的TOS 6.0系统内测，组织工作相当符合国际规范。首先是在规定的时间内，全球的测试志愿者统一填写报名表。筛选出的测试志愿者，在规定的同一时间才能取得被测的 TOS 6.0 系统，并要求在测试规定的截止时间前，提交测试报告，然后由专业人员进行评选。我也是第一次参加这样的测试，并在测试中学到了很多东西。 
 
这次是第三次，因为是内测，测试报告按规定发给了铁威马的开发团队。 
 
非常荣幸这次参加铁威马TOS6.0系统内测能够获奖，也非常感谢铁威马给我这次机会参加TOS6.0系统内测。 
 
这次获奖时我正在外面探亲旅游，奖品是请国内朋友代收的。展示一下通过微信视频的截图： 
我在本次内测TOS6.0系统中，考虑到6.0升级了Linux的内核。我主要是围绕系统的内核和系统结构来测试。 
 
我参加内测的目的，是为了帮助铁威马团队对新产品把关，也是为了对广大消费者负责。因此不会对铁威马团队的新产品“阿谀奉承，溜须拍马”。对有些问题，甚至会直言不讳。关于我的测试态度，大家可以参看我以前发表的众测报告。尽管“忠言逆耳”，铁威马团队也从不固步自封，大家的目的都是为了让铁威马团队的新产品更上一层楼。记得哪位伟人曾经说过一句名言：“科学来不得半点虚伪和骄傲”。 
 
好了，我和铁威马的故事今天就讲到这里。2024年铁威马 TOS6.0 将离我们更进一步。铁威马和我们都将继续迎接新的挑战。愿大家与铁威马携手并肩为美好的未来再创辉煌而共同努力吧！
